Children are valued guests at this Samui villa

Thai people adore children and delight in spending time with them, and children instantly respond to their care and attention. Parents can relax just that little bit more, knowing they have the flexibility and independence to either schedule their days to fit with family routine; or to take advantage of the freedom that comes from having staff on hand.

The villa is well equipped to cater for the practical needs of children (including baby monitors and bottle sterilisers) and is packed with places and things to engage childrens' attention and deliver lasting memories. Around the pool, there is a poolside changing room with a toilet and shower so children and adults alike can change in and out of wet clothes during the day.

Mealtimes are when a Samui villa chef truly pays dividends, just as happy to whip up an omelette or macaroni cheese for young guests, as to craft a Thai banquet for the grown-ups - at any time you wish.

As for the endless laundry that children create - simply drop it in the laundry basket and it will reappear in their wardrobe, clean and folded. Now, if that's not a parent's paradise...?

Children's Samui Villa Accommodation

For infants, Bedrooms One and Two each have a large dressing room that can easily accommodate a baby cot. For the older children, though, the purpose-built dorm is the main attraction.

A bank of bunk beds sleeps 6 children in comfort (8 at a push) .The room is light and airy, with bright colours and large bean bags. Porthole windows, outside decking and hammocks lend an adventurous and nautical atmosphere. Outside, the play area incorporates a table tennis table. There is an entertainment system for bed-time stories, DVD's and Wii games, and plenty of traditional toys to keep them entertained.

Directly next to the dorm is the twin bed Garden Bedroom, with TV and DVD. It is strongly recommended that a responsible adult occupies this room when children are in residence. For added peace of mind, CCTV and motion activated lights can be switched on to cover the outside deck area.

Children are naturally attracted to the seashore. They'll enjoy the excitement of finding beautiful shells and interesting coral "treasures" on the beach, and the novelty of an evening walk along the sand never fails to entice.

Older children can enjoy playing with the bikes, rip sticks and other toys around the car park courtyard.

And, when the sun goes down, there's the unique pleasure of the tropical outdoor cinema for children to look forward to. With popcorn, of course.

Safety for Kids at the Samui Villa

As far as possible, we have tried to incorporate safety for kids into the design of the villa. Water safety is of the greatest concern, and we have to urge caution around the pool and on the beach at all times. Children must never be left unsupervised in these environments. The pool has steps and a ledge to give a paddling depth for toddlers, but like most Thai villas, there is no pool fence to separate the pool. However 'Safe T' "turtle" pool and water alarms (to be worn on children's wrists) are available on request, and the poolside sala and surrounding deck are ideally oriented for adults to relax whilst keeping an eye on the children. Please note that the main villa building has a glass staircase and a fish pond. To address safety for young children, stair gates can be installed; and the fish pond can be closed off if requested.

"Awesome!"

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We stayed at the View with friends for 8 nights late September through to early October. There were 9 adults and 10 children aged from 8 months to 11 years. From the moment we were picked up at the airport, our experience at the villa could not have been better. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate the 40th birthdays for 6 of the adults throughout the year. We are all school friends and had talked about celebrating the occasion for many years.

The villa itself is perfect. There are 5 bedrooms plus the dormitory that sleeps up to 8 children on 3 bunk and 2 pull out beds. There is a large kitchen area and lounge area inside the main house and another outdoor lounge area and bar next to the pool on the ground floor. The frozen margaritas were a great way to start each evening. (actually start each afternoon is probably more accurate.) There was thousands of songs to choose from on itunes which could all be played throughout the villas stereo system as well as hundreds of movies.

We also booked one of the villas behind the view and it was literally 30 metres away and directly connected to the main house.

We were able to arrange nannies to stay with us for the duration and they slept in the twin room which adjoined the children's room. The location of the dorm was far enough away that once the children went to bed, we would not disturb them in any way. They had the best time hanging out with each other and after full days of activities in the pool, on the beach and jumping off the pier they were ready to go straight to sleep.

The staff and service were amazing. Khun Opal and Khun Nokkie were our main contacts however all of the staff were lovely. They took care of all our needs and nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was so good that we didn't leave the villa once for dinner and only went out one day for lunch the entire 8 days/nights we were there. Breakfast was great and for lunch we chose to have sandwiches and salads which was perfect. The chef was an expert in Thai, Italian and Japanese cuisine so we were able to change the menu each night to whatever we wanted. There is an extensive menu to choose from or if you had anything in mind it would be prepared perfectly.
